History of adidas

A. Dassler produced his first shoes in 1920, but the name Adidas dates back to 1948. A year later, Dassler had the Three Stripes registered as a trademark. After 70 years in the management of the company, the Dassler family withdrew and the company was transformed into a joint-stock company - Adidas AG.

Behind this transformation is the Frenchman Robert Louis-Dreyfus, who was the chairman of the board from April 1993 to March 2001. It was he who initiated the first listing of shares on the stock exchange in November 1995. Since 2001, Adidas Group has been headed by Herbert Hainer.
