HOKA ONE ONE

The company was founded by Nicolas Mermoud and Jean-Luc Diard in 2009 in the French city of Annecy . They tried to design a shoe that would enable faster downhill running and created a model with an oversized sole. The shoe is named after a Maori phrase that loosely means "flying above the ground" .

French brand of athletic shoes

Hoka One One is an athletic footwear company based in France that designs and sells running shoes. This was in contrast to the minimalist shoe trend that was gaining popularity at the time of the company's founding in 2009.
