At the age of 17, the new star of Slovak cycling, Viktória Chladoňová, became the junior world champion in XCO mountain biking . The young mountain biker produced a breathtaking performance in the small mountain principality of Andorra, leading the race continuously from the start to the final lap.

The cycling season in 2024 is very successful for Viktória Chladoňová, this year's young Slovakian:

• became the very first junior cyclist in history to win the Slovakian and Czech Road Cycling Championships

The young Slovak mountain biker Viktória Chladoňová won the title of world champion at the race after an enchanting performance of a lifetime from start to finish. The Slovak mountain biker became the junior world champion in XCO mountain biking after a fantastic performance that is unprecedented. Viktória took the lead in the race already in the first lap, although she was only placed in the fifth row at the start.

• It was a big advantage for the young Slovak representative that right after the start there was a relatively steep hill, where the starting peloton started to break away and the young Slovak representative managed to fight her way to the front of the race.
• She quickly built up a lead over the other rivals and already in the second round she had a lead of up to 34 seconds over the other rivals. During the entire race, Viktória kept her winning pace and did not slow down even in the final lap.
• The mountain bike race in Andorra was very demanding and many world-renowned competitors did not want to miss out on victory, but the pace of the young Slovak was devastating for them.

Fierce battles were fought from the start to the finish line, but Viktória Chladoňová performed the performance of her life and came to the finish line as the junior world champion in XCO mountain biking. She reached the finish line of the race with a 36-second lead over the second Canadian mountain biker, Rafaelle Carrier, while Slovenian mountain biker Marusa Tereza Serkezi, who was already 1:31 min behind Victoria, finished third.

The life story of the junior world champion

Viktória Chladoňová started cycling relatively late, at the age of 10 . The beginnings of cycling were primarily about fun and relaxation on two wheels. In her early days, the young Slovak representative preferred mountain biking, but she also took part in other sports. She trained on a mountain bike only once a week in the Brezina forest park in Trenčín, and also engaged in athletics, tennis, and horse riding.

Over time, Viktória added road cycling and cyclocross to mountain biking, such a broad scope is typical for her . She achieved her first successes in domestic races, but over time she also started participating in international cycling races. She achieved her first significant success at the Cyclocross World Cup in Tábor, Czech Republic, where she placed second.

Since 2024, Viktória Chladoňová has been a member of the National Sports Center , but in addition she is studying at the Ľ Gymnasium. Štúra in Trenčín. He has to divide his time very economically between studies and her passion - cycling.
