Christmas markets in your city: dress stylishly and warmly

Christmas markets in your city: dress stylishly and warmly

We cannot even imagine the atmosphere in cities and towns without Christmas markets. They are part of the Advent season and contribute to the fact that we slow down for a while, meet family and friends or buy the last gifts. Don't forget to dress appropriately so that you can enjoy the Christmas atmosphere regardless of the weather.

What makes traditional Christmas markets popular?

Many stalls, wooden houses and mobile caravans offer all kinds of sweet and salty treats. Do you also have something that you tend to put on the markets every year? Some treats are the same throughout Slovakia, others are typical for a specific region. You will find traditional specialties there, but also modern novelties, with which the stall holders want to draw attention to themselves.

  • sweet or savory potato dumplings
  • roasted sausages and gypsy roast
  • various meat and non-meat specialties
  • bread with lard and onion
  • trdelnik - special Slovak sweets
  • poppy seeds and other strudels
  • mulled wine and punch
  • mead and grog
