PUMA

Puma SE (officially referred to as PUMA) is a prominent German multinational company that produces sports and walking shoes, as well as sports textiles, based in Herzogenaurach, Germany.

History of Puma

The company was founded in 1924 as Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik by the brothers Adolf and Rudolf Dassler. The relationship between the two brothers deteriorated to such an extent that they both agreed to split in 1948 and so they now form two separate entities, Adidas and Puma. Both companies are based in Herzogenaurach, Germany.

Puma manufactures football boots and sponsors a number of footballers such as Pelé, Eusébio, Johan Cruijff, Enzo Francescoli, Diego Maradona, Lothar Matthäus, Kenny Dalglish, Didier Deschamps, Robert Pires, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Radamel Falcao, Sergio Agüero, Cesc Fabregas, Marco Reus, Gianluigi Buffon and Mario Balotelli.

Puma is a sponsor of the Jamaican athlete Usain Bolt. In the United States, the company is known for the suede basketball shoes introduced in 1968, which eventually bore the name of basketball star Walt "Clyde" Frazier of the New York Knicks.
