The Salomon Group is a sports equipment manufacturing company that was founded in Annecy, France. The company was founded in 1947 by François Salomon and his wife and son. In 1997, it became part of the Adidas group.
In 2005, the Adidas-Salomon group announced that it had agreed to sell Salomon to Amer Sports from Finland, which also covers brands such as Wilson, Atomic, Arc'teryx, Mavic and Suunto.
Salomon manufactures products for various sports markets, including running, hiking, climbing, skiing and snowboarding products in more than 40 countries on five continents. They started with the production of inline skates and later transferred technologies from ski boots to this segment.
