MICHELIN

Michelin (full name: "Manufacture Française des Pneumatiques Michelin", "Michelin French Tire Factory") is a French tire company based in Clermont-Ferrand in the Auvergne region of France.

History of the company

In 1832, Aristide Barbier and Édouard Daubrée opened a factory for the production of agricultural machinery in Clermont-Ferrand. Edouard Michelin took over the company in 1889, which was renamed "Michelin et Cie". In 1891 , the Michelin company developed the first removable tire for bicycles .

It is known for its historical emblem Bibendum (in English "Michelin Man"), and for its series of characteristic green longitudinal and detailed travel guides and travel maps.
