Every ski gear should include a ski helmet and goggles. It is for your own safety, comfort, protection from gusty wind and frost. The helmet and goggles must complement each other. Shaping is important, as there should only be a narrow gap between these components. In today's article, we will tell you what to consider before buying a ski helmet.
Ski helmet size
In order for the helmet to fit you well, you need to know which of the standard sizes suit you and then decide which of the design pieces you prefer. When choosing the right size, measure the circumference of your head with a tape measure. Hold it just above the eyebrows, proceed horizontally so that there are no major deviations.
Location of the ski helmet
Attention - it may happen that even after determining the correct size, the helmet will not "fit" you. It should fit snugly on the crown and around the head, but not too tight. In other words, the helmet should stay on the head even without the chinstrap on. After tilting, it must not move or fall at all.
We recommend that you also check the position of the front of the helmet. It is supposed to protect the forehead, but not from too low a position that would limit your view.
Ski helmets for adults
On the slopes, we want to impress with equipment in a modern design, but never forget its functionality. Blizzard ski helmets with a shield with an internal antibacterial polyester lining will also convince you of this. They have a thermal insulation and protective function. Helmet Blizzard is ideal for people with prescription glasses, because it provides enough space and does not push anywhere even with glasses. In addition, these helmets have maximum strength and durability, even with a low weight (from 350 to 400 g). This is the result of the special Ultralight double inmold technology.
EXItip - Do you hate a sweaty helmet after skiing? You can choose from two variants. Grab a thin Authority cap underneath that's designed so you can barely feel it under your helmet. At the same time, it absorbs excess sweat that would end up in the insole of the helmet.
If you are one of the colder skiers, or if you ski in worse weather conditions, we recommend hoods or masks. You will love them thanks to their excellent adhesion to the face. Thanks to the pleasant material, you hardly feel them on you, in addition, they warm your neck, cheeks and nose while skiing, so that even strong wind and snow will not deter you from skiing.

Women's ski helmet and men's ski helmet
There are no major specific differences between ski helmets for women and men. Perhaps only a different way of cutting out the back part can be mentioned. The shape of the helmet is adapted for longer hair and a braid.
Comfort when wearing a helmet
The comfort and convenience factor should be ensured by ski helmets with ergonomic removable ear protectors for sound transmission and air regulation thanks to adjustable ventilation holes. The Bollé ski helmet with ABS construction (durable thermoplastic) and the Click to Fit system for adjusting the size of the helmet meets all of this. You can loosen or tighten the circumference even with ski gloves on. Here are Bolle ski helmets.
The safest ski helmets
When designing ski helmets, this is the result not only of construction but also of technological procedures. Ski helmets with a security QR code are already available. Thus, in the event of an accident, a recorded voice message will be played. This significantly shortens the time you would have to call for help.
ATTENTION - We do not recommend using the helmet after a stronger impact, as its skeleton may already be damaged and may not fulfill its protective function.
Children's ski helmets
A children's ski helmet should also be suitable for sledding, skating or snowboarding. The children's helmet from the Blizzard brand is designed in extra light inmold technology, thanks to which the child will hardly feel it at all. Attractive pastel colors will make you not want to take it off :)
The quality of the bib/chin protector is especially important for children. It should have a special soft lining. After regulating the circumference, the child must turn his head naturally, breathe in and swallow without problems.
Povinnosť nosiť prilbu na Slovensku, v Rakúsku a v Taliansku
Unlike adults, helmets are mandatory for children under 15 on Slovak slopes. Since 2015, this has been regulated by the Mountain Rescue Service Act. In Austria, wearing a helmet is mandatory for all skiers. In Italy, on the other hand, it is not mandatory at all. However, we recommend wearing a helmet regardless of your age and skiing skills.
