SCHWALBE

Schwalbe was founded in 1922 and is owned by the Bohle family. The headquarters is located in Germany, branches in France, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands and the USA. Currently, it is engaged in the production of bicycle tires and inner tubes .

How the name Schwalbe came about

In 1973, Ralf Bohle first imported tires from Korea to Germany. They were called Swallow. Back then, Germany was the biggest and most important market. For this reason, "swallow" was translated into German and the name Schwalbe was born.

In Korea, a small bird - a swallow - is a traditional sign of good luck. For society, this means that cycling is an amazing way to get around: fast, easy, natural and free.

Swallow tires are actually still available today. Partner company HungA distributes them mainly in Asian countries. However, the Schwalbe brand is a name that is known all over the world.
