Another advantage is the heel locking system, which can be done very easily with, for example, a ski pole. The bar along which the heel attachment moves is made of reinforced material. Therefore, the locking system can be used, similarly to ski mountaineering, also as a quite useful heel pad. The shoe is tightened using a ratchet, as you know for example with snowboard bindings. There is a special system on the ratchet, thanks to which the ratchet can be easily loosened even with gloves and adapted to the volume of the shoe.
